Boca Soccer, in partnership with Joma and FutsalUK, is delighted to invite you to the forthcoming Joma Youth Futsal Festival, being held at the FutsalUK Arena in Swindon on Friday 17th February 2012.

This date has been booked to allow under 7s, 8s, 9s, 10s,11s and 12s players to experience this exhillarating form of 5-a-side indoor football which has played a key role in the development of some of the worlds most celebrated superstars. Further events are planned later in the year for older age groups.

Entry for a squad of 7 costs just £25 with £25 worth of vouchers provided for players or clubs to redeem against kit or accessories online at www.futsalukstore.com

The festival will include a 5-a-side tournament with group stages leading to finals which will include the presentation of trophies and medals.

There will also be demonstrations by qualified coaches, teaching correct techniques aimed at developing skills unlikely to be coached to junior players elsewhere.

LEADERS HUMBERSTONE, TOLL BAR & FC UNITED ALL NET BIB SCORES
Written by Kevin Bryant

1_ymca_logo_-_high_res_-_copy.jpg
   Cleethorpes County 1Humberstone Futsal 11

  Crowland Athletic 8 FC United
 14
Toll Bar 16 Crows Nest 3

Cleethorpes pulled a goal back at 3-0 and it seemed for short while they would get back into game - not the case.  Cleethorpes is integrating new players every week, Humberstone are settled team, makes a lot of difference when you add tenacity and tactical awareness to the combination.

Humberstone unbeaten in 9.

Crowland have players watching rather than playing, waiting for chances rather than getting involved in the graft necessary to stop opponents playing. Team has potential to get better results against teams above them than is currently happening.

Illustrated by this game, to get 8 against third placed FC United is good, to concede 14 is not so good.

Toll Bar to physically strong for smaller Crows Nest side.

FRANKLIN IN DEVASTATING FORM - 'WILL' EXCELLS

The venue we would love to have

TUESDAY

Apologies, wrote detailed reports and then never posted.

Franklin had every player top of their game. Stuck with El Dogo's when needed and countered with some moves that decimated El Do-go's defence.

Bottom placed YMCA (Scartholonia) late in season getting results against top teams, if YMCA is bottom next league will be cut throat.

Trawl did their usual escape act, equalising last kick.

 Wednesday

Newtons take 4th championship with close win against Trawler-men who have had worst season to-date.

Blaine finish second with 34 points, a batch of teams follow in the 20-30 point region.

A player, 'allegedly, made an abusive comment to a parent during game last night.  Bad behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated, on or off the field.

Referees send reports to LFA.

The League supports referees.

Team involved have creditably dropped said player from next game. Remark was aimed at opposition player, which makes it slightly better, but still serious enough for LFA to take action if reported.

Referee never heard remark, so thanks to team for taking immediate action.

An isolated incident in a league that values sportsmanship above winning.

KB

Last night was really good, showed the speed/effort and commitment that the kids are starting to bring to the game.

Lions Pride were excellent in coming back from a 2-0 deficit at half time although they used their good old fashioned long ball tactics.. Fusion continued to play with the futsal principles - pass and move. I have to say that I witnessed all the emotions of a manager on the side line (Stewart) who was amusing when behind and winning.

The Futsal Tigers game was excellent, the lads never stopped and showed aggression throughout, again the goalkeeper (Jack Goodhand) for the YMCA was excellent the save at the end was beyond belief, YMCA, against elder players, came back from a 2-0 deficit and then 3-2. Report J Mawer

Four great games, the players are lifting futsal to a new level, fiercely competitive, but honest and fair.  Individual skill and technique, thought processes thinking two passes ahead; last night had everything on offer.

Love watching the lads play eleven-aside, but sharing a ball between 22 players on a huge pitch by comparison to a futsal court, means the ball has many times to go long, bypassing the elements of the game that illustrate the players 'real' skill levels.

Next weeks games will have Managers on edge, take your tablets Stu, three teams in each group is fighting for two places, three into two just want go! Report K Bryant

'Thought we did enough to win, new players need little more futsal experience'

YMCA parent - game vs, FutsalTigers.

Thanks for your comments Kevin and John.  Was I not showing the passion and frustration of a manager who wants his team to do well and gets annoyed knowing when your players are not playing as well as they could. Great fighting spirit and never say die attitude from my boys. See you next Monday for another entertaining and mixed emotional night.  Oh and please spell my name right. It's s t u a r t  lol

WANTED UNDER 10 FUTSAL OPPOSITION
Written by Kevin Bryant

Father and son think futsal could be the solution to England's football future! But they need local teams to join an under 10s futsal league...

What

Mark Laughton (38) and his son Jacob (9) are both involved with futsal coaching in North East Lincolnshire.

Since September 2011 Mark has been the volunteer assistant futsal coach alongside Kevin Bryant, the well known futsal organiser. Kevin started an under 10s training session at the Peaks Lane YMCA Hostel earlier in the year, and Mark's son Jacob joined the group in May.

The under 10s session attracted some older young people, and lead to an under 13s coaching session now every Thursday 5.30pm to 6.30pm, and a YMCA team in the U13s Community Futsal League.

Jacob (9) has made some important contributions to the under 13s team despite his age, but as reported in a previous article the under 10s team need opposition now. Kevin and Mark hope to be able to set up an under 10s league as early in the new year as possible. Do you have a team ready for their futsal challenge?

When

The YMCA under 10s train every Saturday, 9am to 10am at The YMCA Peaks Lane

Where

Matches can be played in any suitably sized sports hall. If there is room for spectators even better

Who

All of the futsal matches organised by Kevin Bryant are FA registered with FA referees. If you have 7 players under 10 years of age on 30 August 2011 who want to challenge the YMCA team contact Kevin

Mark is a level 1 FA coach, and works as a youth and community development co-ordinator

Why

Futsal is a small-sided version of football, using a low-bounce ball which improves a player’s touch, turns and technique. It is fast and fun

8 years ago Mark played in one of the adult futsal leagues currently based at Second Avenue Resource Centre. He made some solid appearances for Grimsby Baptist Church. Mark was impressed by the style and standard of football this game produced even then. Now he sees his eldest son improve weekly

How

Contact Kevin Bryant to challenge the YMCA U10s Futsal team

WEEK IN BRIEF

Sheffield Futsal vs. East Coast Futsal

In blue playing for East Coast is Franlin College Peter Silvester.

Monday - YMCA shock second place Franklin College 6-5, handing league winners title to Willows Valiant.

El Dogo’s rampage Trawl.

Shamrock welcomes win after three losses.  GRS suffer yet another odd goal defeat.

Tuesday form teams, GSC, Newton Heath & Scartholonia all win.

Junior 6/7 League, four tight, tight matches.  Every game went to the wire, exhausting to watch.  I coached YMCA in their 3-3 draw with Elite, so much was happening in the game and so quickly that I did not realise until day after that no goals was scored second half.  Quite simply if defence was not organised you conceded.

The only goal with a 2 goal difference was 4-3 until final kick of game, and that was a goal bound clearance!

The year 8/9 league was goals galore as top teams clashed with their more lowly partners.  With few exceptions teams in this league are finding the art of defence difficult, to often players are watching rather than defending.  Futsal demands the team defends as a group; you have no attackers if the opposition is in possession.  You have to get back behind the ball.  If you are facing your goal when team concedes you are out of position.  If you have back to your own goal then, without further analysis, you are in right position.  Rest on the bench not on the pitch!

 Know the Laws.

Dan Mawer refereed a recent BUCAS league match.

At the end of the first half team A had free kick with 1 second left on clock, they shot and scored.

Team B then had same situation at end of game, they passed and scored.

Team B goal was disallowed causing confusion, why?

If player B had shot direct the goal would have stood, as it was he passed, the game ended on that pass.
